These bikes rarely come on the market, especially in this immaculate condition. Torsten Hallman won four 250cc world championships on Husqvarnas and played a huge part in the growth of motocross, especially in America. The bike starts, runs and rides very well, and is fitted with new Dellorto carbs. Only a handfull of SF2s came out with the single disc units before switching to the twin disc set up. Great bike; selling to fund another Italian classic. The twin-cylinder SF2 was supposedly good for 120mph.
This legendary Red Rocket is available for those who loved the way it was back in the day, or who want to try to re-live those days. Husqvarna built strong and powerful World Championship bikes straight out of the crate. EPC, o2 and 1st and 2nd gear limiters are turned off. The bike has new paint (the stripes are paint rather than decals), freshly recovered seat and is currently fitted with clip-on bars in cafe racer style. From what I can tell, this is an original single front brake disc/hub unit. The 750 Laverda was one of the world’s high-performance bikes in the late ’60s and early ’70s and a head-to-head competitor with Honda’s then all-conquering 750 Four.
Email advertising@with one good-quality photo, no more than 200 words about the bike, plus your contact details. I love this bike, the only reason to sell it is I can’t handle it now, even with the lowered seat. There really is no finer way to cover the miles of this magnificent country, than from the saddle of a Indian Roadmaster. The 111 motor in its stock form offers more than enough torque to get the bike wherever you want to go, at whatever pace. Contact Brent on 0402427484 EDITOR’S COMMENT: A blast from the past here, reaching right back near the dawn of big-bore two stroke motocrossers. I spoke with Lloyd about this lovely Ajay during the week. The tank has been professionally enamel coated on the inside. As she was my first love, I didn’t want to take her racing and bought another two. The time has come, however for us to have a conscious uncoupling. It would not require too much time and money to restore as the mechanicals are in such good order. But as this motor cycle is 75 years old it is not original and although the odometer shows 18, 413 miles, the actual milage is unknown. EDITOR’S COMMENT: Steeped in history for their role in World War II, it’s said that modern man’s infatuation with motorcycling evolved from the soldiers who returned home after seeing and riding WLAs during the war. Long list of restoration and improvements, including complete engine/gearbox strip and rebuild, new 38mm Mikuni Flat slide carbs with new pod filters, full Yoshimura 4-into-1 race exhaust, later GSXR1100 17″ rear wheel, 2006 GSXR600 front end, new Nitron race rear shock set up for 90kg rider, new tyres, etc.
We’ll come back to you with payment instructions (including a Pay Pal option). All bikes must be available for viewing in Western Australia and must be ‘something special’. In excess of ,000 spent, using parts from Yamiya. Last year, I upgraded the bike to the Stage 2 Indian cams, and hi-flow air filter, which really gives the motor a new lease of life and improves both the fuel economy and get up and go. EDITOR’S COMMENT: I took my wife for a three-day ride a month or so ago on an Indian Roadmaster down south, and had a ball. Yamaha’s YZ360 was outrageously big and outrageously fast — and still is. Ltd wore old Albert’s name but had Harry Stevens as managing director, George Stevens as commercial manager, Joe Stevens Junior as manager of the company’s R&D division, and Jack Stevens as production manager. He told me it looked magnificent, and that it goes as good as it looks. Spokes have been replaced with stainless steel spokes. She feels I have too many other bikes in my life and she is after someone with more fire in their riding. There are a few on the market at the moment; this looks like either a great starting point for a full restoration or an easy project to become a regular ride. There’s a good timeline on the official HD website; read it here. She has only covered 3200km since the rebuild (originally 79,000km) and I have changed the engine oil and filter every 500km.
Or you can just browse; it’s more fun, and you might fall in love with something unexpected. Contact 08 94194557 or EDITOR’S COMMENT: When Honda bosses first came up with the idea of a very big road bike, they settled on 750cc because it would match the Triumph Trident and they told their engineers the motor must produce 67 horsepower because Harley’s 1300 produced 66. Early CB750s are about as collectible as bikes get, and this one looks like an absolute corker. SELLER SAYS: This was the first two-tone Indian Roadmaster into Australia, back in January 2015. It currently has the Paris-Dakar kit tank and seat fitted, which were a later option. Twist the throttle and dance on the rear, punch the brakes and she balances on her nose! Full service history from Fraser’s Motorcycles and Pro Twin in Malaga, never dropped and always kept under cover. Their engines are living proof that L-twin engines can produce superbike performance, while their frames, suspension and braking components are always world class. Stew is a renowned Harley Davidson mechanic and collector. I’ve owned her for just over eight years and in that time she has gone through a ground-up restoration.
SELLER SAYS: Restored in almost concourse condition. I thought the big Beemer was the most stupid motorcycle that had ever been made. Second owner; has full service history with log book. At less than four grand you could just about push it up the back of the shed and throw a blanket over it, ready for another day. The slab-side GSXR Suzukis continue to grow in status among collectors because they go back to the very start of the R line.It has 6 month rego, everything is new, very low km. SELLER SAYS: This bike has also been built from the ground up and took three years to complete. Price includes a second seat and two different exhausts. Unearthed from a collection of vintage motorcycles. Price includes a spare set of 42WLA crankcases and various internals and engine parts etc. Will consider reasonable offers but not interested in any trades. EDITOR’S COMMENT: There have been a few WLAs surfacing in WA just lately, but not many as unmolested as this one of Tim’s appears to be. I found an excellent article on the WLA’s place in history — and motorcycles’ place in war — here. Recent (June 2017) full service with new timing belts, hydraulics flushed, new brake pads, air filter etc. EDITOR’S COMMENT: We listed a very nice 750 Monster last week (it’s just down the page a bit) from the late 1990s, but this one of Nigel’s is a very different proposition. The original tank colour was silver with blue stripes.Runs an oil cooler, SS carburetor, comes with a few spare parts. The Sportster line has been a huge success for H-D, dating back to 1957 and still being made today. I’d be tempted to adopt a minimalist approach to any restoration – leave the paint and patina as it is and just concentrate on the mechanicals. SELLER SAYS: Just 1030km since concours rebuild to 100% original. EDITOR’S COMMENT: If I close my eyes and conjure up an image of the Triumph Bonneville, this is the very bike I see — this shape, this colour, that seat, those handlebars. The ’07 SR4 really was worthy of the ‘Monster’ name, with that classic cafe racer attitude but a hot 997cc motor kicking it down the street like race bike. A motorcycle mechanic has had a look at it and says it has good compression and would probably start with an oil change and carby clean. Universally known as “the kettle” or “the water bucket” it was the first water-cooled Japanese motorcycle. Price includes two German war helmets, one full-face helmet, gloves, jacket, glasses and cover for sidecar, plus full custom-made covered trailer with ramps. EDITOR’S COMMENT: The last time I saw a Nimbus it was at the Australian National Motor Museum in South Australia. You will struggle to find a better example of a GL1000 anywhere. The Gold Wing has been with us since 1974, getting bigger, more comfortable and more ostentatious every generation. Everything inside the engine is new, magneto and dynamo reconditioned, new stainless rims and spokes, original dowty air forks rebuilt and filled with air (not springs), new brake, new cables, new rear hub , new cush drives, completely new clutch (not just plates but new basket and inner), gearbox fully reconditioned with new bearings, bushes and springs, new chains, new wiring, new cyclon batteries all painted in 2 pack paint, most of the nuts and bolts are stainless and those that aren’t are cadmium plated. Video of it running and being ridden are on youtube, links here: https:// v=-Zy0G5WY8o Y Happy to drop bike off at a freight company. EDITOR’S COMMENT: Two strokes once ruled the world, and Suzuki hung onto the two-stroke technology longer than most with its water-cooled triple-cylinder GT750 being the star of the show. All electrics work as per original – including indicator buzzer and radiator fan. Turns out he bought his first one as a young apprentice mechanic in South Africa back in the day, then found this one in need of reincarnation a few years ago and set to a full restoration.
